Chanaser, the bimonthly magazine, is published by the Union of the Armenian Evangelical Churches in the Near East. It's Chief Editor is Mr. Yervant Kassouny.

Post-trauma

There's an interesting interview at Վանայ Ձայն (Voice of Van) with Dr. Aline Kalaydjian about post-trauma psychology. Some of what she said:

• "When a calamity occurs, people try to blame others..."
• "Accumulation of trauma makes a person narrow minded and inflexible"
• "When a group of people are under pressure, violence and trauma for long years, their frustration and disappointment will come out horizontally, and start to blame/accuse each other"
  
• "Because you have a pain and you're disappointed, your viewpoint and perspective and attitude changes. You become selfish and see only your need because you will think only about your pain"
• "Time does not heal if there's no healing process with it"
• "Sometimes, when the trauma is passed to the next generation, it has become evident that the next generation will have and show anger and bitterness"
• "We cannot control/change what's outside, but we can control ourselves"
• "You need to continue your daily routines and obligations and keep them. You need to delight yourself with the things that you cherish and like"
• "Keep yourself away from watching the TV"
• "Watching news all the time and staying late at night for the news will make your disappointment and depression worse"
• "Watch or listen to a quick summary of the news so that you know where what has happened, only to be aware"

Professionals or Volunteers to Kchag?

According to Wikipedia,

"Volunteerism is the willingness of people to work on behalf of others without the expectation of pay or other tangible gain. Volunteers may have special training as rescuers, guides, assistants, teachers, missionaries, amateur radio operators, writers, and in other positions. But the majority work on an impromptu basis, recognizing a need and filling it, whether it be the dramatic search for a lost child or the mundane giving of directions to a lost visitor.[citation needed] In economics, voluntary employment is unpaid employment. It may be done for altruistic reasons, for example charity, as a hobby, community service or vocation, or for the purpose of gaining experience."

Wikipedia adds another term, which is skills-based volunteerism. According to this Encyclopedia,

"skills-based volunteerism is a term used to describe volunteering where the volunteer uses their professional skills. This is in contrast to generic volunteerism where specific skills are not necessary."

From June 3 to June 12, a group of engineers are coming to Lebanon, specifically to Kchag to help in the summer camp's renovation program.

Engineering Ministries International (EMI) is a non-profit Christian development organization made up of architects, engineers and design professionals who donate their skills to help children and families around the world step out of poverty and into a world of hope.

Հովիւին խօսքէն ետք, Օրդ. Գ. Բարսեղեան առաջնորդեց պաշտամունքի պահը, նուագախուբին անդամներուն հետ՝ Պրն. Ա. Թորքոմեան եւ Հայկ:
Պաշտամունքէն ետք, աղօթքով պատրաստուեցանք ընթրիքի, որը ջանիցականները հրամցուցին իրենց ծնողներուն: Ընթրիքին ընթացքին ցուցադրուեցաւ նկարներ ջանիցի գործունէութիւններու: Ասոր յաջորդեց խաղի պահ մը, բայց խաղէն առաջ դիտեցինք «Ճիշդ Հայերէն Խօսինք» ժապաւէնը: Երկու խաղ խաղացինք՝ Օրդ. Շ. Կէօչէրեանի եւ Պրն. Ս. Տէմիրճեանի առաջնորդութեամբ:
Հաւաքին ընթացքին նաեւ ամէն մէկ ջանիցական իրենց ծնողները պատուեցին եւ շնորհակալութիւն յայտնեցին վարդով մը:
